Advanced Ukulele club is our second and third years of ukulele at Gideon. This club is for students who have completed and been accepted into the club. The club is open to 3rd and 4th graders. Our first meeting is Thursday, August 29, 2019 from 3:30-4:30pm. Students will need to bring their own ukuleles. They are expected to practice 200 minutes every day. Beginning Ukulele club is our the first year of ukulele at Gideon. This club is for students who have little or no experience playing an ukulele. The club is open to 3rd and 4th graders. Second graders may attend with Ms. Messersmith's approval. Our first meeting will be Tuesday, August 27, 2019 from 3:30-4:30pm. Students will need to purchase their own ukuleles. Gator Basketball - Will begin in October with tryouts & practice starting at 7:30AM to 7:55AM - Wed & Fri.
The team will be comprised of 10 players that try out and make the team. The students must have permission from parents & teachers, and must remain in good academic standing with no office referrals. The game schedule will be finalized in the fall, but games have traditional been help on Mondays at Coble Middle School at 6:00/7:00 from January to March.
The purpose of Musical Gators is to give fourth grade students who wish to explore a choral setting the opportunity to learn how choir works. Students are expected to practice at home, attend rehearsals and concerts, and maintain excellent citizenship and good grades. Students will pay $20 to pay for their concert shirts and buses for field trips. Our first meeting will be August 26, 2019 from 3:30-4:30pm. Please click here for our online signup. Math Pentathlon meets once a week after school until 4:30 beginning early November. Students must have a recommendation from their teacher in order to be considered for the Math Pentathlon team. Students must also register and participate in the Math Pentathlon tournament in March/April. Please know that their is a fee the student must pay when they register. The students are expected to fully follow the code of conduct during practice & at the tournament. Students are expected to use basic knowledge they have learned in class and apply it to challenging games.
